Shelby Lopez received her Master of Social Work degree with a Macro concentration from the University of Georgia. Shelby has actively integrated and utilized a trauma-informed lens throughout her professional career from developing programs and organizational policies to collaborating with clients and partners. She has had the opportunity to work with a variety of clients and communities, including under-resourced youth, youth in child welfare, survivors of sexual violence, refugees, and immigrants in building trauma-informed, community-based programming. Shelby is a passionate advocate for restorative justice and human and civil rights. She actively seeks opportunities to provide education around trauma-informed care and safe spaces of learning for those in her community and beyond. Alongside her partner, Shelby is a writer, host, and podcast producer focused on trauma often experienced in immigrant communities. She enjoys engaging with compelling stories in film and books and spending time with her partner, Angel, and their bulldog, Porkchop.
